“Driven by numbers and fueled by people, I find joy in the details and the relationships.”

Michaela Sloot brings an infectious enthusiasm and a dynamic learning approach to her role as an Intern in the Accounting Team at Modoras Melbourne. Graduating from RMIT Urban School in 2021, Michaela delved right into RMIT’s Bachelor of Business with a double specialization in Financial Planning and Accountancy. This choice underscores her ambition and commitment to the financial sector.

Starting her professional journey as a gymnastics coach, Michaela’s genuine love for the sport and mentoring young enthusiasts was evident. Her versatile background also extends to retail, where her role at Coles enabled her to forge meaningful connections with customers, understanding the importance of simple, kind gestures in business.

Since joining Modoras in June 2022, Michaela has been more than just an intern. A testament to her commitment is the pivotal role she played in the creation of a comprehensive manual for the administrative staff, aiding in streamlining operations. Her impressive growth in the fields of tax and accounting stands out, showcasing her drive to learn and adapt.

Her strengths? A persistent “can-do” attitude combined with a kind nature. These traits, coupled with her diverse experiences, give Michaela a unique perspective in her role. She fondly recalls the genuine appreciation she received from customers at Coles, a sentiment she aspires to replicate with Modoras’ clients.

The varied nature of her role at Modoras is what she treasures the most – from assisting the admin team to working with seasoned accountants, every day brings a new learning experience.

Beyond work, Michaela is a culinary enthusiast, often found trying her nan’s cherished recipes or exploring new cafes. Leisurely walks and quality family time also hold a special place in her heart. When asked for a personal motto, she smiles and quotes Dory from Finding Nemo, “Just keep swimming.” In many ways, this embodies Michaela’s journey – an undying spirit, always eager, always learning.
