State-Based Stimulus Package Initiatives | Australian Capital Territory

In addition to the Nation-wide packages, states and territories have also created local business relief packages. From payroll tax to electricity rebates, State Government initiatives for Australian Capital Territory are outlined below. (Please click on the links below for more information.)
Payroll Tax Deferral
All ACT businesses with Group Australia-wide wages of less than $10m can defer payroll tax for FY21, interest-free until 1 July 2022. Eligible businesses will be required to make normal lodgments, however, payment will be deferred
Payroll Tax Waiver
Businesses in hospitality creative arts and entertainment industries will be able to apply for a 6 month waiver of payroll tax from April to September 2020.
SME Electricity Rebate
Eligible SMEs with electricity usage below 100 megawatts are eligible for a $750 rebate on the next electricity bill.
Vocational Education and Training Support
Apprenticeships, traineeships and other VET students will receive increasing VET subsidies.
Other Business Assistance
- Waiver of license and dining fees for the hospitality business
- Business advice and support services
- Waiver of rideshare vehicle license fees for 12 months
- Credit of the annual fixed charge for eligible commercial property owners
- Additional payment of $1.5m to the existing $1.8m for ACT community clubs
- $20m committed to fast track infrastructure projects to government buildings and suburb maintenance
